The visit primer
What would you like answered before a visit?
An exact medicine name helps. Your own goal helps more. Keep a short list beside you, whether the conversation is in a room or on a screen.
What am I hoping to change?
Try putting the problem into a sentence. Is it about weight, pain, sleep, or something else? Say how it affects your day.
Bring your medicine list, any allergies and questions about pregnancy or breastfeeding. Add the treatments you have already tried.
What options fit this problem, including options without a peptide?
How do I check the person seeing me?
Ask for their full name and the type of licence they hold. A clinician is the health professional who talks with you about your health and checks what care you need.
As of October 1, 2026, Minnesota offers free online licence checks for doctors, physician assistants, nurses and pharmacies.
Doctors and physician assistants appear in the Board of Medical Practice’s records; nurses appear in the Board of Nursing’s records.
The medical board also publishes public discipline, meaning action it has taken over a professional’s conduct.
A clear record gives no score for the quality of someone’s care.

What if I will see a nurse practitioner?
A nurse with a licence for a wider range of care is called a nurse practitioner.
As of October 1, 2026, Minnesota nurse practitioners can identify health problems and write prescriptions under their own licences. First, they need at least 2,080 hours of practice by agreement with a qualifying doctor or experienced advanced practice registered nurse. When this early work goes beyond primary or mental health care, doctors and advanced practice registered nurses must work together in that setting.
During that early period, they work together under an agreement.

Can a doctor elsewhere see me online?
As of October 1, 2026, a doctor in another state can give care by phone or online without a full Minnesota licence. The doctor must register with Minnesota’s medical board each year.
The doctor must have a licence with no limits in the state where they work. No state may ever have taken away or limited that doctor’s licence.
This registration does not let the doctor open a Minnesota office, see patients here in person or take patients’ calls while the doctor is here.
Are you licensed or registered for care where I will be during this visit?
Let the service know your planned location for the visit. If you travel, ask again before the visit.

What happens after I fill in the health form?
Ask who will review your answers and how to ask that person questions of your own. Find out whether the clinician can come back for more detail.
A menu of medicines cannot, by itself, settle what care you need. The Federation of State Medical Boards gives that advice; it was checked on September 26, 2026.
This group unites state boards that oversee doctors. Its advice says your clinician needs to check your health and let you ask your own questions.
State boards can use this advice when they set their own rules. The advice itself is not a Minnesota law about writing prescriptions.
How will you arrange any exam or test that my care needs?
Who will make and send the medicine?
Get the pharmacy’s actual name. Then check that name in the state’s records.
As of October 1, 2026, a pharmacy filling prescriptions for Minnesota residents needs a Minnesota licence, including one located outside the state.

What happens after the first conversation?
Ask how to reach the clinician, when the plan will be reviewed and who handles questions between visits. Put the answers in your notes.
What would make us change the plan or stop it?
Leave room for a no. Talking through your health needs does not commit you to a particular medicine.
